In order to deepen the cooperation with Taiwan universities and carry out the talent training program between the universities in Fujian and Taiwan, from May 14 to May 19, President Mr. Ling Qidan of Longyan University, together with Mr. Xu Zhijian from the Office of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange, Mr. Liang Junping from the Office of Academic Affairs, Mr. Chen Jiebin from the Office of Development and Planning, Mr. Xie Tianyang from University Science & Technology Park, and Mr. Li Junbin from Qimai College, visited Chung Hua University, Union University, Tsinghua University, Minghsin University of Science and Technology, Changhua Normal University and Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
During the visit, Mr. Ling Qidan introduced our university’s history, course characteristics and his ideas for deepening the cooperation with Taiwan universities. Aiming at the goal of cultivating applied talents and reforming teaching, Mr. Ling also discussed with Taiwan universities the cultivating patterns and university-running mechanism of combining production with learning. He hoped to boost the reform of cultivating talents and improving the quality of talents by introducing successful experiences and high-quality educational resources from Taiwan universities.
During their visit in Taiwan, the visiting delegation completed many missions. For example, they discussed the cooperation memo, teacher-student interaction and“Three Creativities”training with Tsinghua University in Taiwan; they signed cooperation agreement with Changhua Normal University and discussed about how to foster doctoral students and to carry out teacher-student interaction. They also discussed the training of creative and entrepreneurial talents with the Chung Hua University, Minghsin University of Science and Technology, etc. while they discussed the implementation of“4+0”university-running principle with Changhua Normal University, Chung Hua University and Yunlin University of Science and Technology. They visited the university-enterprise cooperation units, the innovation & incubation center, libraries, laboratories, and etc., and they implemented the preparatory work of“3+1”learning principle of Fujian-Taiwan Cooperation.
In addition, Mr. Ling Qidan visited the“3+1”students from our university who are now studying in Chung Hua University and Yunlin University of Science and Technology. He also presented awards to the excellent exchange students and chatted with them, encouraging them to study hard and treasure the chance of studying in Taiwan universities.
