Longyan University Achieved Excellent Grades in International Music Competition

On the evening of January 21st, the teachers and students from the College of Art and Design, Longyan University got good results among 10,000 contestants in the 11th Sino-Singaporean International Music Competition (Final).

Ms.Kong Defang, a violin teacher of the university, won the second place of the Adult Romantic Violin Group (the first place was vacant); Ms. Liu Xueyan, the vocal music teachers, won the second place as well in the Chinese Opera Group; Miss Zheng Xiaoxin, the final year music-majoring student, won the second prize in the amateur Piano Group, tutored by Ms.Guo Lixia and Mr. Li Shuying, the teachers of the university.

The Sino-Singaporean International Music Competitions, jointly organized by the Singapore National Arts Council and the Singapore International Music Institute, have been officially held in Singapore since 2007.

This competition is chaired by Professor Pavel Egorov, a Russian artist, director of the St Petersburg Music Academy, and president of the Judge Committee, as well as Professor Joan C. Sommers, president of ATG, professor in School of Music, University of Kansas, and president of the Art Committee.

In the competition, the Chinese representatives are mainly the teachers and students from such professional Music Academies as Central Music Academy,China Music Academy, Shanghai Music Academy and other academies.
