On the evening of December 26, the New Year party of 2018 in the theme of “Celebrating the 19th Party Congress and Marching towards a New Era” was held in the Academic Report Hall by the College of Art and Design. The University President Ling Qidan, Vice Secretaries Zhu Min & Chen Kaiming, Discipline Inspection Secretary Zhou Chunsheng, Vice Presidents Chen Lihong & Zou Weidong and over 500 teachers and students attended the party.
At the party, there were melodious instrumental music, graceful dancing performances, solos, group singing and chorus. All the performances were written, directed and performed by the teachers and students of the Art and Design College. Accompanied with impassioned drumbeats, the dancing named Exulting Dancing with Drumbeats opened the prologue of the party. The light and melodious concerto by two violins made the audience feel good while the female group singing Miaoling is Linked with Beijing was sung clearly and melodiously. The dancing performances named Taro Dish Stays Fragrant and Looking for Dragon Lanterns in Lanes were rich in the Hakka characteristics in West Fujian. Guo Lixia, the Assistant Dean of the College, was playing the music The Yellow River Cantata with her student in double pianos, which pushed the party to its climax, and Lai Caifang’s beautiful solo China’s Hope brought the party to an end.
The purpose of the party is to fully demonstrate the spiritual outlook of the faculty and students in the college of and to deliver New Year’s greetings and wishes as well as to demonstrate the teaching achievements of the Music Specialty in the college.
